  • 3 core power cable application and description:
    Three core cable design and distribution range is 3.8/6.6KV to 19/33KV, the frequency is 50Hz. Mainly used in power supply station, indoor plumbing, outdoor, buried and water, etc a variety of places, and on the industry, distribution station, power station cable installation.
     
    Three core power cable standard:
    IEC 60502 Part 1(1.8/3KV)
    IEC 60502 Part 2(3.6/6KV-18/30KV)

    Three core power cable structure:
     
    Conductor: plain annealed copper or aluminum conductor, with IEC 60228 (1 class and 2 class).
     
    Conductor shield: conductor shield layer is non metallic layer, the extruded semi conductive compound must be firmly glued in the insulation, in order to exclude all gaps. Conductor shielding layer for 1.8/3KV – 3.6/6KV PVC, EPR/HEPR insulated cable is not necessary.
     
    Insulation: 1.8/3KV – 3.6/6KV cable generally adopts PVC insulation, can also use EPR/HEPR, XLPE insulation.
     
    Insulation shielding: insulation shield for 1.8/3KV to 3.6/6KV PVC, EPR/HEPR  insulation cable is not necessary. The shielding layer can be coated on the periphery of the semiconductor waterproof layer, in order to make longitudinal waterproof.
     
    Inner cover and filling: for composite metal layer cable or each single core with a metal layer, the inner layer semiconductor and filling should be coated in the core periphery. The inner layer is made of waterproof material, unless the cable is made to make longitudinal waterproof. The inner layer is generally covered by the extrusion layer, but it can be overlapped, if the gap between cores is filled.
     
    Lapping layer: wrapping layer is composed by tape impregnated / synthetic composition, can also is two layers composite, composed of a special composite materials. The thickness is about 1.5mm.
     
    Armoured layer: armored layer is general round steel wire armored, applied in separating sheath outer. For flat wire armoured and fictitious diameter armoured cable with greater than 15mm, ordinary flat sheath thickness is 0.8mm, fictitious diameter cable armoring layer up to 15 mm, including 15mm. Tape armour is two layers of spiral shape, the outer armor generally within inner layer as the axis, and tape armored cable is needed to add one strengthen layer  pad.
     
    Outer sheath: the outer sheath contains the extruded layer and the extruded thermoplastic composite (ST3 PVC or ST7 PE), or an elastic composite (CSP or Chlorosulfonated polyethylene). Usually the outer sheath thickness is 0.035 D, D represents the outer sheath's diameter, the unit is mm. Non armoured cable and unarmored aggregate sheath cable, metal shielding layer or concentric conductor, the outer sheath thickness should be less than 1.4mm, concentric conductor total sheathed metal armoured cables of outer sheath thickness should be greater than 1.8 mm.
