Power cables are mainly used for power transmission and distribution purpose. It is an assembly of one or more individually insulated electrical conductors, usually held together with an overall sheath. The assembly is used for transmission and distribution of electrical power. Electrical power cables may be installed as permanent wiring within buildings, buried in the ground and run overhead or exposed.……Including: rubber cable, welding cable, URD cable, XLPE insulated power calbe etc.
Bare Overhead Conductors are used in overhead transmission and distribution network applications. They are also used for un-insulated hook ups, jumpers, grounding conductors and other applications. Our Conductors conform to ASTM, IEC, BS, BS EN and DIN standards.…… Including: AAC conductor, AAAC conductor, ACSR conductor, ACAR conductor, AACSR conductor, etc.
Aerial bundled cables (also aerial bundled conductors or simply ABC) are overhead power lines using several insulated phase conductors bundled tightly together, usually with a bare neutral conductor. Our abc calbe conform to ASTM, IEC, SANS standards.……Including: abc cables, cvered line wire, service drop wire etc.
For example, 400 mm2 35KV three core XLPE insulated steel tape armoured cable and single core XLPE cable comparation:
These two kinds of cable cross-sectional area, insulation thickness are same, the difference is the outer thickness, cable approximate diameter and cable weight. Three core cable diameter is about twice of single core cable, weight is 3.7 times of single core cable.
In some project, three core cable and single core cable application condition:
400 sq mm three core cable:
conductor diameter: 23.5mm
insulation thickness: 10.5mm
outer sheath thickness: 5.0mm
cable approximate diameter: 125.1mm
cable weight: 23390 kg/km
Application range and laying environment: laying in indoor, channel, cable trench, can bear certain mechanical force and pulling force, with armoured layer can be directly buried in the soil, also can be laied in various of pipes with magnetic duct.
Manufacturing and transportation: in the manufacturing and transportation process, due to cable tray and cable weight, every roll cable can not be too long, 400 mm2 cable length generally is not longer 500m
Carrying capacity: buried in the soil 675A
400 sq mm single core cable:
conductor diameter: 23.5mm
insulation thickness: 10.5mm
outer sheath thickness: 2.9mm
cable approximate diameter: 60.5mm
cable weight: 6340 kg/km
Application range and laying environment: laying in indoor, channel, cable trench, can not bear certain mechanical force, without armoured layer, can not allow directly buried in the soil, also cannot lay in various of pipes with magnetic duct.
Manufacturing and transportation: due to single core cable small diameter, less weight, so the cable manufacturing length can not be limited by cable tray and cable weight; 400 mm2 single core cable length can up to 1000m.
Carrying capacity: buried in the soil 720A
It can thus be seen that power cable can add steel tape armour/ steel wire armoured layer, strong anti-external force damage, small floor area, can be laied in various of pipes, although construction is difficult, but the construction time is short; during installation, whether climbing tower or transformer substation interval is convenient; in the longer operation, even if occur the local metal shield grounding, not effect the line operation safety.
Single core cable advantages: interphase insulation is easy to security, not easy to occur interphase insulation; cable transportation is relatively easy; laying is easy; A plate of cable could do longer, same cross-section cable current carrying capacity is big.
